FCP persistant naming fields error

Post by gremmen »

I am designing a symbol font using standard symbols
for marking purposes. basically small drawings.
Everything looks ok using FCP.
However, in spite of using every combination of "naming wizard",manual naming and after searching and applying every solution from this board,
the test function F5 still reports a problem with microsoft naming fields,
and installation the font reports an error message.

The font contains approximately 20 drawings which are suitably mapped
to miscelleaneous characters for MS only

W2K FCP 4.0 134.63

Any clue to where to look ?

What exactly will FCP check for when using F5 ?

The Font Creator Program tries to locate the Microsoft Symbol platform. It is needed for both the mappings and the naming fields.

What is the exact error message you receive when you press F5?

The exact message

Font is not valid, make sure all Microsoft naming fields
are available.

they definitly are, as far as they can be under the selection
'font naming" and "autonaming" ....

Can you send the font file to me, so I can investigate the problem?
