Hide font from Windows ...?

Is it possible to prevent the name of an installed font from appearing in the font name drop-down menu in Word ... so the font's installed but users cannot easily use it?

You can make a font available for a single application if the application supports this feature. Scanahand does it for example. We occasionally make custom software (as long as it is font related), so do let us know your intentions.

Just to clarify, we wish to install a font back onto user's machines so that old documents continue to display correctly (we removed the font and now wish to reinstall it). Can we amend this font using FontCreator and perhaps change a property or check a tickbox which has the effect of hiding the font (once installed) from Windows?
