spacing glyphs

Post by Krys »

Hi there,
My problem is that I've done something to the spacing of a glyph that results in a space behind the glyph that I can't alter. It only happens on the mac version of the font. I've tried to fix it but can't. I check the spacing for all my glyphs with a letter in front and a letter behind. I would be grateful for any help that you can offer.
Thanks in anticipation, Krys

Change the right side-bearing of the glyph by dragging the dotted line in the Glyph edit Window.

Is this the Callitalic Font you were working on earlier?

Does this problem appear when kerning is disabled?

Which version of FontCreator are you using now?

Hi there Bhikku,
Thanks for the quick response.

No this is not Callitalic. I decided to have a break from it and have just recently returned to it.

This font is one that I have been working on for a while, Gothic grain.

I did as you said, but on the right hand side dragging the line doesn't bring the comparison glyph to the correct spot. As I said, it is fine with windows 7. The problem lies with mac.

I am using the 6.5 professional edition of font creator.

I have attached the font. It is still not complete, but would welcome an opinion.

I don't know how to disable kerning. Would it make a difference?

Somehow, you have added enormous positive kerning values for the lowercase x.

If it's not affecting Windows, perhaps kerning is not enabled, or the program you're using doesn't support kerning, or it's ignoring these ridiculous values.

Thank you very much. I have now resolved the problem through kerning.
