How to overlap correctly

Post by Spacewarp »

I'm trialing FontCreator 8.0, and having mixes results. I don't have a lot of (read: any) typesetting background, so that may be hurting me as the documentation isn't proving particularly follow-able in many places. But I'm just going to ask for the practical help right now.

How do I make the horizontal be transparent all the way through, so that I'm left with two black circle segments and nothing else? Theoretically, if I can learn how to make this O, I can figure out how to make the rest of the curved letters on my own.

Thank you for your time.

If I understand correctly what you want, you are nearly there already.

Use Get Exclusion of Contours, then delete the bits that you don't want.

That was it. I was confused when I tried that on my own, because nothing appeared to happen when I used that function in the past. Thanks!
