Kerning problem
Hello there,
I'm new this forum. I've altered the positions of some kerning pairs, I clicked APPLY, however these changed weren't registered. I checked with WORD and other software and it made no difference whatsoever.
Am I doing something wrong here:
Thank you for any advice,
Leszek

Did you export the font and install it?

No, I didn't export the font. Where do I export it to and what should I save it as?
Thanks
Thanks

Oh yes, I've done that bit. I thought I needed to export it in the OpenType Designer. I exported the font and installed it. Re-started my PC for the changes to take place and made no difference:

Please attach images to the forum. Your Photobucket images are not showing up for me.
Please attach your font project too.

Re: Kerning problem
From the File menu, save the font project. It has an extension of *.fcp (FontCreator Project).
Re: Kerning problem
As far as I know, Word does not have kerning enabled by default.
I clicked the Test font icon. Opened Word and set AVAVA using the font that the test name is set to (look at the title bar in the Test Font window).
In Word, your font looks like this because the check box for kerning was not enabled:
Enabling that checkbox and setting the font size in that dialog box (I used 12 pt, text was set at 72 pt), I then get your kerning:
Uneven between the pairs, but your kerning works.

Re: Kerning problem
However, unless you have specific permission, that is a copyrighted font. You should be using a font, perhaps one from Google Fonts, FontSquirrel, etc., that has explicit permission to edit and rename--and they usually need a rename.

Re: Kerning problem
I also found that the Kerning worked fine in Serif PagePlus.
As Mike said, this is a copyrighted font, so I have removed it.
