Default Character Set?

Is it possible to change the default character set for a new font project? I have ZERO need for most of the math symbols, but currency symbols and the OE/oe set are in demand... is there a way to remap the default character set for all new font projects? Also, is it possible that once this is done, that the new character set be mapped to existing fonts without having to go through every single glyph?

You don't have to go through every single glyph. The glyphs which exist in your font will be the ones you create. You can leave gaps. If there are any extras you don't like just delete them. But why would you want to do this anyway, if a glyph exists and you don't use it then the only problem it causes is the extra space it takes up, how many gigabytes do you have on your hard disk?

Why would you need to remap characters? what is wrong with the unicode mappings? that way if anyone else uses your font then the cahracters will be where they expect them to be.

By far the easiest method is to open an existing project and save it with a new name. That way, all of your personal preferences for the project, OpenType scripts, etc., are already complete. Just add the new glyph outlines and fix the metrics. Select the kerning adjustment pairs in the OpenType designer, right-click, and run Autokern to calculate new pairs for the new glyphs.

Don't forget to edit the Image Export Options before exporting the new font.
