That's nothing to do with the font or FontCreator. You can show the Preview pane in Windows Explorer if you want to see what the font looks like.

Windows will determine which preview / sample text to use based on the Unicode Character Ranges.

In Windows fonts folder you can have these, and probably more:
Abg
a±´
简体
Etc.

How can select Unicode Character Ranges for Tirhuta ?

I don't think it is possible, as it seems Windows only has a couple of special cases which depend on the Unicode Character Range. And since Tirhuta isn't even included I don't think Windows supports custom preview text.

If you want to know for sure, or what to ask them for such support, I suggest you contact Microsoft.

Tirhuta is included in the Unicode Standard 9.0, beginning at U+11480: http://unicode.org/charts/PDF/U11480.pdf

That is true, but the OpenType specs don't have a specific option to "enable" support for it. So I don't see any logical reason Windows will detect and act to it.

Actually there are currently 6 options left (reserved) while there are many Unicode ranges not assigned, so I wonder if and how this will be looked after.
