There's a question about kerning

Post by Quintus »

Hi, guys!
I used KernWizard to adjust the kerning, it showed fine on FontCreator:

But when I typed on Word or Photoshop, it wasn't showing like I was expected.

I want to ask that how to avoid this, thanks in advance.

Best wishes,
Quintus

Have you enabled kerning in Word?

Actually, kerning is not needed for any of those pairs, the side-bearings need to be increased.

You would probably need kerning pairs for AT, TA, AV, AW, etc., and for Uppercase/lowercase pairs like Ta, etc.

I see... I will adjust these characters carefully. But I still have a question.
I typed the punctuation, " and ' on Word, it appeared ” and ’ automatically, even shows like that on Photoshop. It really bothers me.

The display on FontCreator:

The display on Word and Photoshop:

That is an Autocorrect option in Word. "Straight" 'quotes' are automatically replaced with “Double” and ‘single’ smart quotes.

Okay, I know what's going on now. Thank you very much! :)
