Character writing tool for school

Is there an easy way to create a dotted font from one of your own existing fonts that can be used by school children to learn to write that character?
No. Not that I know of.
I do have several fonts for this (and lines, direction arrows, etc.) that I have used for some work. They are commercial fonts. All I know is that I wouldn't wanna make one! It would be likely a combination of AI and whatever font editor I chose to use...and a lot of semi-automation in AI.
