Exporting AFDKO Compliant *.fea or *.vtp files

Post by Coldbreeze16 »

I'm considering getting FontCreator since I work with VOLT quite a bit and this seems a much needed overhaul from VOLT (lookwise and ease of use/feature wise). However it seems I can export my OT code only as *.otfld format. How can I get an AFDKO compliant *.fea file or at least a *.vtp file?

Only import of VOLT scripts are supported, no export.

And what about otfld files? Are they same as fea files? Or actually different.

I have never seen a *.fea file, but I assume that they are different. FontCreator's (OpneType Layout Feature Definition) *.otlfd files were developed for FontCreator.

Our OpenType layout feature format is based on the format used by the now ancient and obsolete OpenType Compiler from Rogier van Dalen.

We would like to add support for other formats, but we have to be sure it benefits a lot of users, as we also have other important things on our to-do list.
