Support for Contextual Positioning

Post by Stephan B. »

Hi!

It seems like in previous version of Font Creator, we had the ability to read and create Contextual Positioning lookups. Are there plans to support this feature again?

If not and if this feature was previously available in older versions of Font Creator, as a Pro users of version 11.5, can we still get access to older versions?

Regards,

Stephan

Chained Context Positioning is OpenType GPOS LookupType 8: Chaining Contextual Positioning Subtable whereas Contextual Positioning is OpenType GPOS Lookup Type 7: Contextual Positioning Subtables.

When I create a new Lookup, as seen in the image below, I do not have an option in version 11.5.0.2421 to create a Contextual Positioning lookup type.

Moved to support forum where others with more knowledge may see it.

What's that Chained Context Positioning that I see on the dialogue?

FontCreator does read Contextual Positioning but stores them as Chained Context Positioning.

Any chance we could get support for saving Contextual Positioning tables?

I am working on a text processing client and need to make sure I handle all OpenType tables properly.

I'm sorry but there are no other font designers who are in need for this right now, so there is no real advantage for us to spent time on this.
