I used FontCreator 5.6 ,in which there is a feature in the tools-options-font-Recalc average char width, but I can't find it in the version 9.1....

I explored the font always disable it, but now I can't use it in the new version.

The value is a calculated value. It can be seen in the Font Information from the Font menu.

Nothing will be changed. Advance width is set in the font. Average character width is just a calculated value like CapsHeight or x-height. It has no affect on the glyphs in your font.
