Problems with changing x-Height and CapHeight values

Can't I change the x-Height and CapHeight values in the Font Creator8 Standard Edition?
It doesn't work the way it's presented in the forum and the lines don't follow automatically.
Tell me how to easily change to the desired value in Standard Edition.
It would be better if you could tell me how to apply it by image.

:!: In Standard Edition, there is no space available for manual entry on the Metrics tab.
Is there any way to set the x-Height and CapHeight value manually in Standard Edition?
If it's not possible in Standard Dictionary, should I upgrade to Professional?
I want a very very accurate answer.

Cap Height and x-Height are calculated in Font Properties, Metrics, using the x and H glyphs. If they are missing, the values won't be correct. They can also be set manually in the Metrics Tab of the Settings dialogue.

To show the various metrics guidelines and set their colour and style, go to the Tools menu, Metrics Options.

That's not the exact answer I wanted.
In Font Creator 8 Standard version, there is no space for manually entering metric values.
My point is to ask how to set the x-Height and CapHeight value to the desired position in the Standard Edition.
If it's not possible in Standard Edition, should I upgrade to Professional?
I really want an accurate answer.

You can change the values within FontCreator 12, as shown here:

Even though you did not, IIRC, give your version number in your original question, you did get an accurate answer. The fields can be edited manually in Font Properties, Metrics.

It is not much different even in version 6.5, except that it is found in Format, Settings.

Even the Home Editions allow you to manually change the Cap Height and x-Height, or to calculate them from the glyphs for H and x.

Is this the setup screen from Font Creator 12 Standard Edition or Professional Edition?

For all editions.

As I said earlier, one can change the x-Height and Cap Height in the Home Editions, as well as in the Standard Edition. The dialogues are identical.

There are a few things that the Professional Versions can do, which the Standard version cannot, but basic features like editing Font Metrics is not one of them.

My screen shot above is from FontCreator 8.1. Erwin's is from the latest version, FontCreator 12.

Please show us a screen shot of Font Properties, Metrics in your program.

Can't you modify it because it's not version 8.1?

You can't do it with version 8. You need to upgrade to the latest version. It also comes with many more improvements, bug fixes, and enhancements.

See our upgrade page for more information.
