Font Sample Text in Windows Font Folder
Font Sample Text in Windows Font Folder
Is there a way to change the three character font sample that you see when you view the font icon. I modified the shape of some of the Basic Latin glyphs in the font Tonga Bold to match some old font that I could not find the replacement for. Tonga Bold was the closest I could find. When you view the font icon in Windows you see three characters. In this font the displayed characters are in Kanarese (Kannada). Is there a way to change that display to Basic Latin?

Windows decides what to show based on the Unicode Character Range settings on the Ranges tab. I don't think there is a public document that explains what settings work, so do some experiments, but be aware some applications might rely on these settings.
