hello i want to write backwards, from the right to the left - mirrorwriteing
simply because its missing in this world, we lost the left side
and means a new opportunity
my question:
how can i make it type backwards?
i always have to use the left arrow.
it should handle like an arabic or hebrew font somehow...
but i want it to work without needing to install an arabic or hebrew language pack on the pc
is that possible?
i am not that advanced in Unicode, thx for any help
i attached my lefthand ttf

One person downloaded your font.

You would need to create the glyphs in a code block for Hebrew or Arabic, or some other right to left script. It might be more complex than it seems at first sight, so I don't want to get involved.

Does such a font have any worthwhile purpose?

This is not how it is supposed to work, so you have to use some kind of hack. What Bhikkhu Pesala could help, but there is one alternative.

Start your text with the right-to-left override (RLO) character (code point $202E) which tells the word processing engine to process the remaining characters from right to left (RTL).

Here is the text "text shown from right to left" preceded with this special character:

‏‮text shown from right to left!

However as soon as a new line is detected this override stops and you have start with yet another right-to-left override character.

tank you. :D The purpose: maybe wrtite a diffrent book?
getting back the broken and lost side
getting together the western and the eastern world
creating a new timeline?

i thought to create the font would be easy but it aint
i first wanted to try it with a hebrew font.
i went already on
http://freefonts.co.il/
and downloaded some
how to create the font seems to be highly complicated
and i want it to function perfectly without a need to always start with a certain glyph

I wanted to install a hebrew language package for word...
I dont understand hebrew at all, neither arabic.
I can not even install it.
maybe I shouldnt make such a font
as long as i can not speak their languages
does anybody here know someone that speaks them?

Personally, I wouldn't bother. I would just use whichever reverse text generator that accomplishes what I wanted.

The forum isn't keeping the url intact. Just copy the following and use your search engine:

"reversed text generator"

i don't always want to have to start with that right-to-left override character

i can hear them from microsoft, i almost typed in something about typing backwards on their office support site but that is probably not needed, i think i know they know. so where on my keyboard would be the left to right overwrite character? i still want that font to type backwards.

Unicode has defined over 138,000 characters, so don't expect easy access for all of them with a keyboard.

You can copy and paste my sample text, which includes the specific character:

‏‮text shown from right to left!
‏‮text shown from right to left!
‏‮text shown from right to left!

if i copy paste that to word, it shows the text as normal, doesn't work.
i still would like to write from right to left
and would like to have a font that works without installing an arabic or hebrew language package -
i can still not even install one of them
can anybody help?

That's real cute but I would not want to read that book in that "font"

I think you could create your glyphs in the Hebrew or Arabic unicode range and then you could map those to a custom keyboard.
In the past, I mapped some characters to the keyboard using Microsoft's keyboard creator. It has been a while so I am not sure that you could map the entire Latin character set.
