Characters not showing in Test Font

Post by timdixon »

I just downloaded your program last night and was very excited about it. I started with the Quick Start Tutorial and when I got to Test and Install the Font, my two characters, A and B, did not show up in the Test font window. I am working on a Dual PIII 1ghz computer with 1gb of RAM and Windows XP operating system. Any thoughts. Thanks.

Maybe the outlines are out of the Glyph's bounding box.

Can you send the font file to me, so I can investigate the problem?

Both files you sent to me work just fine.

Make sure you have typed upper case "A" and "B" in the text field to see your creation. It won't work if you are typing lower case characters.

Similar problem...

Post by James »

I recently created a font, and it works great in Photoshop and MS Works; however, when testing it in Font Creator or WordPad, the letter "L" (both upper and lower cases) does not show when typed -- it becomes like a blank character...

Any ideas?

Thanks,

James

Maybe the outlines are too complex.

About the font you sent to me, in both glyphs there are contours way outside the visible area (use the shortcut CTRL-A to select all contours). Removing those contours will solve the problem.

Thanks a lot, Erwin.

I don't know from where all of those contours came.

Thanks, again

James
