Post by miracle_hoshi »

Thank you! This is it! This is what I wanted!

Take a look at some of the Tutorials.

What do you mean by "Combine complex glyphs"?

I tried to express what I wanted to do. I need a way to put other glyphs inside multiple glyphs.

I have to complete all of the combinations in the same way as above.

tried using the Transform Wizard, but it didn't work. What's wrong?

Mod Edit: I uploaded your images to the High-Logic server so that they don't get lost, and are easier to see.

Reason: Added images inline. Offsite images are less convenient.

I understand what you want to do. What you need is to create composite glyphs.

You need to use the Complete Composites feature. Unfortunately, since neither I nor Erwin know Korean there are no definitions in the CompleteComposites.xml data file for Hangul. If you intend to create multiple Korean fonts, it would be worth adding the code yourself. It would also benefit future users who want to create Korean fonts with FontCreator, but it would be time-consuming.

Otherwise, you can create composites with copy/paste.
  1. Select and copy the glyphs that you wish to combine in the glyph overview.
  2. Open a the glyph editor window for the composite that you wish to create
  3. Paste the clipboard contents
  4. Adjust the composite glyph members as you wish.
The method is described more fully in Creating Composites in the Home Edition.

If you want to try adding the code to the CompositeData.xml file, let me know and I will show you the method for a few composites to get you started.

What I'm trying to do is a simplified combination, so I'll have to use separate data.

Since I purchased the Standard Version, it would be better to make CompositeData.xml.

Take a look at existing Korean fonts to see how they are designed.

The tutorials focus on Latin Character sets and creating glyphs with diacritical marks such as: à è á ó ñ etc.

There are some definitions in Composite Data for Cyrillic and Hebrew, and some other symbol character sets, but none for CJK.
