Changing bottom bearing

Hi, I've got a problem:
I've created a character 'g', but the bottom of my 'g' falls of!
Now, most likely this is because the bottom bearing is too high. Question is: How to get it lower? If I open other font files, they already have a low bottom line.

The top and bottom bearings are equal to WinAscent and WinDescent (the ascender and descender metrics) located on the Windows tab. In order to change the values click Settings on the Format menu and then click the Windows tab.

Beat me to it Erwin! Gnash! One answer I knew as well.
Heigh ho!
I had the same problem because fonts for children require longer ascenders and descenders. The answer lies in Format/Settings/Windows page and alter the value in the WinDescent field to what you wish. I also went back to the Header tab and put the same value (with the minus sign) there but I do not know whether that is advised - maybe Erwin will tell us. The answers by the way are in the new Manual in .pdf format from the download page on the HighLogic site. Bottom of page 59.
