Computational Calligraphy

Post by William »

I found the following on the web, serendipitously from a link on a page about something else.

http://typographi.com/001049.php

This led to the following web page.

http://www.caligraft.com/

This looks interesting.

I only realized later during the day that in the http://www.caligraft.com/ webpage, each of the eight pictures can be clicked upon to lead to a page describing that particular picture.

I notice that in the text for the picture labelled Dibuixant it is stated that Dibuixant is the Catalan word for "drawing".

The uix part made me think of Don Quixote, simply because of the link to Spanish and the uix sequence.

That has made me wonder whether the name of Don Quixote has built in to it some meaning which would be apparent to someone reading the story in Spanish yet which has been lost in translation to English readers.
