I decided to have a look at the http://www.typemuseum.org webspace yet by mistake keyed (though not the http:// part) http://www.typemuseum.com and serendipitously found a different type museum!

There are many examples of lettering in various categories.

I have only looked at a small part of it so far, yet here is a link to one image which I particularly liked.
