Have you used alternate glyphs in an OpenType-aware program?

Have you used any of the alternate glyphs of Adobe Garamond or of Adobe Arno or of some other font in an OpenType-aware program, either in a text document or to make a graphic? If so, could you possibly say something about your experiences of doing so please?
