Fonts in use in Bohain-en-Vermandois

Post by William »

The artist Henri Matisse grew up in Bohain-en-Vermandois in France.

I decided to try to visit Bohain-en-Vermandois virtually.

I have found some interesting fonts.

The following web page shows a picture of the family home at 26 Rue du Château.

I found the building in Google Streetview.

A full-screen, zoomed-in display displays two interesting items.

One is the blue and white plaque at the left above the green sign. The plaque displays the name HENRI MATISSE and some other information that is not clear to me.

The other is the green sign with large letters.

There are some User Photos available. One shows the building and a display in front of the building.

On a building that is a short way to the right is a sign in a rather unusual font.

At first glance it reminded me of Castellar, though that was only because of the general design with the gaps. The last letter of the sign has a rather nice acute accent.

In an almost parallel road is a sign for the Collège Henri MATISSE where a rather nice sans serif font is used.
