Jonne Haven here.

I'm near complete my font and I need to make a bold version because I do not like what Windows 10 does to bold the glyphs I've worked hard on. Is there a standard out there? Any ideas how to maintain the aesthetic quality of the original. Are there any suggestions as to what settings to set to "Bold" from "Effects"

Where are the "Effects" that you mention?

I ment the effects to thin and bold in the Opentype Designer I believe it is called. It's where most of the calt features are.

You must be referring to the Glyph Transform dialogue.

Have you read the tutorial on Using Glyph Transformations?

The Bold Effect increases the weight to horizontal and vertical strokes. The Thin effect reduces the weight of the strokes. The Cap Height will also increase/decrease as a side effect, so scaling is also required to maintain consistent font metrics across font styles.

It would be better if bolding and thinning were proportional to stroke weight
