Inverse Effect for the Glyph Transformer please

Post by William »

Could you consider adding in the Effects section of the Glyph Transformer an Inverse facility please.

In the thread viewtopic.php?t=2252 Bhikkhu Pesala included the following.
If you want white text on a black background, then you need to add black contours enclosing the entire glyph, and fix the contour directions from the Validation Toolbar.
It occurs to me that doing that is presently a task which could take quite a time to carry out. An Inverse facility in the Effects section of the Glyph Transformer could automatically, for each glyph, add an extra contour of the correct width and change the direction of all of the other contours.

Some manual adjustment might be needed if the original font had any contours touching the edges of the glyph area, yet most of the task would have been done by the Glyph Transformer.

Thanks William. That's a nice enhancement that is added to the to-do list.

This feature request has now been implemented in FontCreator 10.

Running the Inverse Transform Feature adds a black rectangle a few funits wider than the Advance Width, and the full height of WinDescent to WinAscent. The result looks like this in the Preview Toolbar.

Running the script again does not reverse the process, but adds a second rectangle the same size as the first one, but in the opposite direction, so save the project before testing the feature, and/or copy the glyphs to the clipboard so that they can be pasted back in place.

See this video about the new features.
