I successfully inserted some characters in the Misc Symbols and Pictographs set in the range from $1F311 to $1F320.
I selected them in the glyph overview and pressed the "P" shortcut.
None of the glyphs were added to the Preview Toolbar.

Yes, I did. Sometimes I visit the forum at home (through my phone), but forget about it when I'm back at work.

The bug has been fixed. Do update your current version 6 of FontCreator to at least version 6.2.0.249. Updating can be done by manually downloading from the download page, or by using the automatic update feature within FontCreator.
