I don't know if this is a bug or not, but it is an unexpected behavior.
I've been creating some test fonts with a few glyphs, OpenType tables, etc. I've included two mapped characters, "F", and "i". When I save the font, the "F" that is mapped to U+0046, gets additional mappings to every character from U+0047 "G" to U+0068 "h". Is this an purposeful feature or a bug?

Re: Automatic mappings
Does the font contain the first four recommended glyphs?
It is correct to assume you are using FontCreator version 6.2?
What encoding formats do you use for the available platforms?

Re: Automatic mappings
No, the font contains only the two mapped glyphs, and two other glyphs that are accessed via OpenType substitution (with VOLT). I made this font to test the TTX program that transforms TTF fonts to and from an XML font format. I was just concerned that it might be an unexpected behavior - it certainly was unexpected for me! but if this is known and purposeful, you can close the bug report.

Re: Automatic mappings
All I know is due to the nature of one specific encoding format (Byte encoding table), you can end up with a lot of mappings for the first glyph. It is best to always include the four first glyphs, but feel free to experiment!
