[CLOSED] Kerning not Consistent

I've noticed some strangness in the OT Designer while kerning a Pair. That pair is circled in the pic. The kerning of the glyphs is not consistent in the three displays of it.

Note that the spacing is much more in the "Pair adjustment window" and the Zoomed in window, but the bottom window shows it to be much closer.

I'm not sure which window to trust to be accurate in this kerning pair. I can send you the project if you need it.

Blessings,

Jonne

I've seen that before, but forget what the issue is.

[conjecture]
It strikes me that the top right portion uses the bearings explicitly for display. When the lsb isn't at zero this happens. I think. It has been a while since I last saw it happen and the memory is a bit fuzzy.
[/conjecture]

Hopefully Erwin will be along and slap me up along the side of the head and set me straight.

After exporting the font and opening it up in Word, it turns out that the bottom window in OT Designer is the accurate one if that helps.

Thanks,

Jonne

Do send me the font project so I can look into it.

Nothing wrong as both are accurate, but I can understand this is confusing. The thing is you have two lookups (PairAdjustment1 and "PairAdjustment W Alternate") in the kern feature, which both contain that specific pair, so it is cumulative in the preview area.

Erwin,

I see. Thanks, I'll delete one of the pairings.

I appreciate your swift response!

Jonne

Erwin,

Yep you nailed it, I deleted one of the pairings and it shows accurately now!

Hah. I was out in the backyard picking tomatoes and felt a slap, so I had to come in to see Erwin's response...

The font I (more or less) remember this happening with must have had a second lookup.

Thanks, Erwin.
