i am new here.
i could not figure out: does font creator open otf fonts? if not, how can i edit or convert them to make them editable in fontcreator?

Yes, it opens both .ttf and .otf files. Outlines from CFF based OpenType fonts (.otf files) are converted to TrueType outlines.
FYI FontCreator can also extract fonts from .ttc files.

thank you. but here i have a problem when i open a otf file.
it says: Errot opening xxx . Font without outline information not supported (version number -32767,46856).
what does this mein and what can i do open and to edit this font?

It means the file contains invalid information.
Send the file to our customer support team, and we'll look into it. Also let us know which version of FontCreator you use.

It is not an OpenType font, but the .pfb file of a PostScript Type 1 font.
