Someone in the Yahoo Pali group claims that these fonts are in the public domain. Pali scholars are usually honest, but I wonder if he is just misinformed. These fonts would be good for me to use because they are widely available and good quality.
Anybody have any definite information about this?
Verdana and Georgia in the Public Domain?

They're still copyrighted and owned by Microsoft, according to the pages at Microsoft's site:
