This is not a feature I have used before in earnest, but it seems to work very much better with the latest beta. If you're trying to produce fonts from scanned images you may like to see the results. I used printscreen to produce a bitmap from a medieval typeface then traced it Font Creator. The bitmap was about 540 pixels square.
It looks like very little tidying up is needed.

I tried it, finally
I must admit, when I finally tried this feature I was very surprized how easy it was to use. I remeber trying to use it once before... along time ago and gave up for some reason.
Either I've gotten much better at font creation in general or this feature is much better... I'm not quite sure.
(I'm really just dabbling in font creation... but thanks to Font Creator... I'm having loads of fun.)
Made using mainly "background image" and some image import...
