Newly Created Font Stays Italic In MainType

This is a problem I've spent all day long on and it's driving me crazy.

I made a set of four fonts:
Regular
Italic
Bold
Bold Italic

The primary font ALWAYS displays in MainType as Italic, although it's not italic at all. If I open the font in the Windows font viewer, you can see that it is regular.

The projects are carefully exported to their proper font file names.
And they all validate without any error at all.
I've set the naming for the subfamilies - I've included a screenshot.
I've used "Remove Font" about a hundred times (my ignore list is getting very long, indeed), and deleted the fonts from my entire system.
I've cCleaner-ed the font cache and even restarted the computer.

MainType won't even install the italic font.
InDesign only recognizes one of the three installed fonts, although the three installed fonts are present in the registry with the correct filepath.
I've made a big mess and can't get it working and am quite frustrated.

I've already reviewed this thread.

It seems like the computer is getting the regular and italic versions mixed up.
I suspect it may have something to do with the problem I report here.

I suspect the Italic version has an issue, and makes Windows thinks it is the regular version.

Can you show or send us information about the italic version? Or send all four font project files to me?

Yes, the fonts aren't very big. I'll send them in email to you. I'm probably doing something wrong, but for the life of me (and the last day or two) I can't solve it.

Thank you for sending the font files to me. I've taken a short look, and did see the italic version has defined the Preferred Subfamily.

On my Windows 7 system it doesn't seem to be an issue, as MainType shows all 4 fonts just fine, but I suggest your leave that field empty, and then reinstall the italic version to see if that solves the issue.

Thanks for taking a look at those files. I forgot that I put that there - it was a test to see if it made any difference - and it doesn't seem to make any difference at all whether the field is empty or not. Even if I remove it and export the font again, the problem is still the same in MainType. The Italic won't install at all, the regular shows as Italic. Something is out of whack somewhere.

Before MainType can install a newer version, MainType has to know about the updates you've made. This can be done by selecting Refresh Fonts Folders from the Tools menu.

Let us know your results. If it still fails let me know and I'll contact you to further look into this issue.

Yes, I know that very well. First, in order to keep duplicates out, I uninstall the fonts, then I "remove" them from all known locations and ignore them in MainType (as I've said, the ignored list is getting lengthly), then I refresh the fonts folder to find the newly exported fonts.

I have the same problem and can't fix it. Not even a computer restart fixes it.

I'm not sure that the problem is in the FC export. The files are fine.

I think the problem is in the computer somewhere else.
I've cleared the font cache with ccleaner,
and checked the registry keys,
and checked the c:\windows\fonts folder.
I use the "everything" program as a windows search indexer, and it doesn't find the file anywhere, either.
Is there some other cache, maybe? Or maybe it's just "stuck" in MainType somehow?
