I have a font called companyQE installed on my computer.
I open this font in FontCreator 9.0 Pro.
I save the font to my desktop to have a working copy.
I then install the font onto my computer using FontCreator.
Now the <alt> 0240 character maps to undefined ( a empty rectangle).
I made no changes to the font.
What is going on?
FontCreator changed font just by opening and installing

I'm not sure if the original font actually contains the character, so it is best to send us the font file(s) so we can look into this issue.
Please open a ticket and attach the original and exported font files.

Re: FontCreator changed font just by opening and installing
Thank you for sending the font files.
The original font contains some oddities. It is a symbol font, which is legacy and should be avoided.
Symbol fonts support up to 224 characters/symbols but your font contains 470.
I suggest you convert it to a Unicode font (Tools -> Convert Font -> Convert to Unicode Font) and then manually correct mappings as needed.
If you still require the old Symbol font, let me know and I'll try to find a fix for the mapping issue.
