*.otf-export on MAC not working

Post by frutiger »

Hi,
I've got a font-family with regular, italic and bold cuts that works just fine as *.otf on PCs and if I use them as *.woff by using css @font-family, but if I use them as *.otf on MACs I cannot seem to make it work. If I only install the regular cut, it's fine, but when I add the bold *.otf, things are only displayed in bold, instead. I add a screenshot of the font properties of the bold font, which seems to trigger the problem. Am I missing something important here?
Very grateful for any kind of lead,
Dieter

That looks OK. Have you added anything on the Extended Tab (it is usually left blank).

If set/available; is the Panose Weight value different for regular and bold?

Dear Erwin,
that was exactly the piece of information I was looking for. I had, in fact, not made changes to the PANOSE settings (I had no idea they were relevant in any way), and it seems that MAC OS X is affected somehow by these settings, whereas Win7 does not seem to care about them.
It works like a charm now.
Thank you and best wishes,
Dieter
