I have a question about smoothing in Font Creator.
When I go to the Smoothing section of font properties and press the 'Generate' button it comes up with an arbitrary set of numbers and with smoothing for both standard and clear type. I was wondering how these numbers are arrived at and if the 'ttfautohint' program generates valid hinting for Microsoft Clear Type ?

Re: Question about Smoothing
Nobody answered my question, not even Erwin, which was disappointing.
So I went to the Ttfautohint website and read the documentation, which is long and dull for the most part.
I still don't know how the numbers are generated but that is not important. The main question I had was if ttfautohint generated valid Microsoft ClearType hints and the answer is yes it does, in fact that is the main reason for it's existence, the standard hinting is provided for compatibility.

I am so sorry, but even though I read your post, I totally forgot to respond
