editing a current font
editing a current font
Hi I currently use a specific font but needed to make the "/" thicker. I went into font editor and made the "slash" thicker, saved the font, deleted the original from the windows/fonts folder and then installed the revised font. I then went into Microsoft Word and the slash was still the old thickness? Is there something I have done wrong?

It might help to reboot the PC after installing the font.
I am not certain that that will help, yet as you are reinstalling a font with the same name as was there before, it is possible that Windows might get a bit, shall we say, "indignant" about it!
Perhaps using Tools | AutoNaming... to change the name of the altered font to a name of which Windows has no prior knowledge might help, even if only as a temporary test to make sure that the change to the "/" glyph has been done correctly.
I hope that this helps.

Edited. Apparently not relevant to the problem.
