Request for Ability to Copy And Paste Suffixes

Post by Trajecient »

At present we can copy and paste entire glyph names, such as for adding a block of glyphs at once to add say, smallcaps forms for Latin letters; but the suffixes still have to be redone.

Depending on what features a font is supporting, the time spent renaming suffixes starts to really add up: such as for fonts with both Swash Capitals and smallcaps; smallcaps across Latin, Greek and Cyrillic; Arabic fonts given the various positional forms; fonts supporting both Polytonic Greek and Monotonic Greek in the same font; and fonts supporting academic/math needs with regards to superscripted and superscripted letters and sometimes with scripts-on-scripts support as well.

It seems to me being able to use Paste Special to copy and paste the suffixes would be a helpful little quality-of-life improvement.

Have you used the glyph rename feature?

Hadn't been aware of that. Thank you. Swapping the .001 out works perfectly and preserves the rest of the name.
