Hi Erwin,
thanks for your patience and advice, especially the link to your video.
My thought error was probably that I thought the color image would be transferred to the font but it seems that only the outlines can be filled with color. Nevertheless, this helps me a lot.
Why doesn't FontCreator 14 save color glyphs?

Hi Erwin,
Unfortunately, I have to ask again. I have now inserted two images into a new file and colorized them.
When I change the color of the second image, the color of the first image also changes, how can I prevent this.

Open the specific glyph in color mode and then select a different color item from the palette panel, then click the member to make it use the other palette color.
This is shown in the video.

Hi Erwin, I am slightly in despair ☹
I got the color assignment right now, my two characters have different colors. But when I install the font, the characters are only displayed in black and white in Word, for example.
So I tested a free color font "Blockinfo". FC21
but the same effect in Word, only black and white.
Do I have to change anything?

Concerning your own font, make sure you have COLR (layered glyphs) in the Export Settings dialog.
The other font contains SVG color glyphs and those are not supported by Word. We consider SVG a dead end, even though it is heavily supported by Adobe software.

Hi Erwin,
thanks, with your hint the display works perfectly in Word, but unfortunately not in Excel, for which I actually need it. There it remains black and white.

Re: Why doesn't FontCreator 14 save color glyphs?
Excel is rather outdated if we talk about fonts. However I suspect Microsoft will release a new version this or next year which will come with support for fonts with color, OpenType layout features, and even variable fonts. Fingers crossed.

Hi Erwin,
at least I learned something about FontCreator in general and colored fonts in particular.
Thanks again for the effort you made.
Maybe this thread will also help one or the other user.
