I am not really up on the terms, so this is in basic english.
I opened an existing font and changed a character. Then I did a 'save as' and renamed the file in my documents file.
When I go into adobe type manager to install it, it isn't there!
If I open Windows Explorer, I can see it, but I can't add it with Adobe Type Manager.
Help!
I am on a deadline and i need to do this ASAP.
Thanks
Kim

Why not go back into Font Creator and let it do the installation? (Font/Install) It will handle all the details for you.
Only renaming the file (arial.ttf to myarial.ttf) has no impact on the internal font name. So while you're in FC to do the install, do Tools/Autonaming and give the font a new name - perhaps the same as your file name. When you do a file save the internal and external names will be in sync and should be visible and usable everywhere.
Be careful about copyright laws when using "an existing font" - some manufacturers/foundries/designers rightfully object to this ...
Good luck
