Unresizable font

Post by Baltimor »

Hi all :D

Sorry for my english (it is very bad) :? .
I need to create a "not resizable" font with a special fixed height, i try with negative Win Ascent and positive Win Descent but it's not really decisive.

Is it possible, and how ?

Thanks for help.

bye :D

Both TrueType and OpenType are scalable font formats. If you need a fixed sized font, try bitmap (e.g. FON and BDF) fonts.

That's correct, unless I didn't understand your initial post.

We can't help you with non-scalable fonts, as we never tried them. The best place to ask any questions about that is the newsgroup:

Ok, thank you, 8)

I will try something else then, can i reduce the scale ?
For exemple in size = '8' my font as 20 px height, in size = '20' it as 22 px, etc...

Maybe it's possible, no ?
What params can help me to do that (if it's possible).

Thanks (and sorry again for my english).

To make the letters as big as possible, scale them until the top of ascenders is just below WinAscent, and the bottom of descenders is just above WinDescent. To scale the glyphs by a fixed percentage use the Transform toolbar. To scale the whole font, or a range of selected glyphs, use the Transform Wizard on the tools menu.

Just to explain Bhikkhu Pesala what i was trying to do.

The "o" is using my special font.

For exemple, if my text size is 7 :
Hello world

If the size is 12 :
Hello world

If the size is 25 :
Hello world

But that don't look to be possible.

Bye. :)
