Invalid LoadGlyphOutlinesFromStream format. Corrupt project?!

Hello, I have worked around with a font project for over 3 years. I have experienced a BSOD after saving this project and right after I reopened my computer and saw this message (at the title) when I attempted to open this project. Is there any method to recover it? I really need this font as I made thousands of characters already.

Do send the font project to us, so we can look into it.

Also look into Windows temp folder, as it might still contain a valid project file.

Seems there isn't a backup stored in the temp folder, I may need to send the project to you. However the forum still restricts me from sending you private message. Is there a way to send it to you? Thanks.

I'm sorry, but the file is too corrupt. I could open it but it lost all outlines. I hope you have a recent backup of this project.

It might be wise to enable the backup option in the Options -> Advanced window, in case it happens again.

Appreciate for the assistant anyway.

I have found an alternative solution recently. I extracted the installed font from this project and retrieved most of the characters, only lost around a week of progress (compared to the overall progress of 3 years). In addition, I saved every single outline of the font to an alternative backup in Adobe Illustrator (which served another purpose originally). I have a sister-font file with the same settings such that I recovered the font I lost combined with the above method. (What a sweat for me)

As problem has been solved, I am now creating an extra copy every time I saved the project.

I backup all of my font projects using 7-Zip, which gives good compression, and I save the archives to DropBox and USB sticks. Having a backup copy only on your hard drive is no help at all if your hard drive crashes, or your PC gets stolen or destroyed by a fire.

This is true, I have to consider to save it on a cloud as well.
