An easy question, I hope!

I would like to round the corners of this slash:

But when I ty to add nodes, they're always square boxes, not curves. Thanks.

This is covered in the user manual:
There are several operations related to points (move, add, delete, change points to on or off-curve, etc.). Select one or more points and then right-click one of them to open a submenu with even more point related features.
Keyboard Shortcuts can also be a time safer:
Also within the glyph edit windows, you can select one or more points and then press key "N" to make them all On Curve points. Or press key "F" to make them all Off Curve points.

BTW, for me, this is not working for in Version 14.

If I add a new node either using "'right click' --> Add Points" or clicking on the line to add a point, the Right Click-->On Curve or Off Curve option is grayed out... the Transform Window has an ON CURVE check box, but if I unclick it and press "APPLY", it goes back to ON CURVE checked and the Hot Key options are ignored... (F to set off curve does nothing)

I'm stuck with ON CURVE only if I add a new node.

Working perfectly here with shortcuts "a" to add, "f" to change to off-curve, "n" to change to on-curve. Or using the Transform Panel Apply button.

Check for updates. 14.0.0.2792 is the latest version.

It is not possible with cubic curves.

OK, that makes sense.
