Variable Font

Post by Nebuldu »

Hi,
Even though I set the width or slant properties in the axes menu to make a variable font, I can't reach the result. No problem with weight. Is there something wrong with the program? Can you make a variable font as width or slant in the program? Even though I examine some variable fonts and create the ones available in them, the result fails. I read the article about making Variable fonts on the site. What steps should be followed to make a variable font as Width and Slant. But first of all, it is necessary to understand whether there is an error in the program. I sent this message to you today. But I couldn't find my message on the site because I forgot to write the message title. I had to send it back for him. Excuse me.

A variable font can only interpolate if you have provided masters along each axis.

This is a valid setting for a variable font with two axes, weight and slant:

Weight [400 - 700] (default 400)
Slant [-10 - 0] (default 0)

Masters:
Regular 400 0
Bold 700 0
Italic 400 -10

I have made a sample font based on these settings.
