The 30 day free trial offer

Post by William »

Hi Erwin

I am discussing fontmaking with someone.

I notice that you have the 30 day free trial offer.

Does that allow someone to export a font at all please?

Maybe just a few characters rather than a whole alphabet or something like that so as to learn?

Best regards,

William

The exported font will contain High-Logic Logo characters in random glyphs.

During the 30-day trial period, you can use FontCreator with full (professional) functionality. This includes exporting fonts. We no longer add watermarks, so you can actually evaluate our font editor to the fullest.

Hi Erwin

Thank you for your reply.

I notice that the price is stated as not including VAT (Value added Tax).

I am not certain but I expect that that will mean an extra 20% on a purchase by someone in the United Kingdom. I know that the usual rate is 20% but it is 5% for some things such as energy (gas and electricity) and 0% for some other things, and I think books and newspapers are rated at 0% as is some food. So it is not the same VAT rate for everything in the United Kingdom.

Do you know if there is any import tariff or export tariff as a result of Brexit?

I have read of cases where someone has bought something like a coat from a website and the coat has been sent from a European Union country and the recipient has been required to pay import duty and a fee to the courier for having dealt with the import fee paperwork.

A download over the internet is not a physical delivery, and software is not a coat, but I am wondering if any import duty applies since Brexit.

Best regards,

William

There is no import duty on data transferred over the internet but I do believe that you will be charged 20% VAT on the purchase.
