Unable to add a new text sample

Hi,
running Main Type Professional version 9.0.0.1207 64bit

I have been trying to add a new text sample from menu tools/options/text sample
When I hit add button it shows my new text sample name but when I add some new text and hit apply nothing happens.
Hitting OK and it leaves the dialogue. Reopening the dialogue doesn't show what I have just entered. I tried running in administrator mode but this makes no difference.
Any clues as to what the problem may be?

I am afraid it is a bug in that version, as more recent versions work just fine.

But that means I have to pay for a more recent version because of a bug. That doesn't seem quite fair to me.

We understand it is annoying, but it is not a blocking issue. You can continue to use your version, however if you upgrade you will benefit from more recent bug fixes and enhancements.
