How to get minimum / maximum X, Y information from Glyph Editor?

Post by BParkoff »

Hi,

If I set 2048 Units per EM in Font Properties, how do I know the minimum Y and maximum Y in Glyph Editor before I will set Win Ascent to 2200 and Win Deascent to -700. If the numbers exceed 2200 in Win Ascent and -700 in Win Deascent, then drawn font is shown in glyph, but outside of drawn font is cut off.

This applies to minimum X and maximum X information before I can set Left Side Bearing and Right Side Bearing.

Kindly,

The glyphs must be drawn within WinAscent and WinDescent, or they will be cropped.

If you use the Calculate button on the Font Properties panel, that will adjust WinAscent and WinDescent to suit the size of the highest and lowest glyph contours in the font.

Font Information, on the Font menu, will tell you more.
