Arabic-Latin Glyphs baseline

Post by azzam »

How can I lower the Arabic letters (Glyphs) to the same level as the baseline of the Latin letters, or vice versa?
An example below

Select all the Latin glyphs in the glyph overview, and use the Glyph transform wizard to move them up by the desired amount. Recalculate font metrics to ensure that there is not cut-off due to some accents on Latin glyphs being above the WinAscent line.

There is no an icon for "glyph overview" in the menu bar.

You have an old version, but the instructions remain the same. Select the Latin Glyphs, and use the Transformation Wizard to move them up.

The vertical value needs to more than zero. It should match the distance between Latin and Arabic baselines. I don't think you should centre the glyphs — that would change the letter spacing and mess up kerning.

Then you need to recalculate the font metrics.
