Adding missing characters

Hey mates,

I was wishing to have somone of you more experienced people help me with this font, Currently im trying to use it in a game, the only problem is that i cant get it to show “/” and “%”, can somone of you please instruct me, or do this for me.

The name of the font is KELMSCOT, i can upload it if needed

Thanks in advance.

The forward slash “/” exists in the font, so I don’t know why you cannot see that. The percentage “%” is absent. To add it using the trial version:

  1. Insert Character and select % from the dialogue with double-click.
  2. Copy the forward slash to the new glyph with Control C, Control V.
  3. Open the zero glyph, select all (Control A), and copy
  4. Close the zero glyph
  5. Open the percentage glyph edit window and paste
  6. Resize the two selected contours of the zero by dragging the corner handle while holding shift to retain the aspect ratio
  7. Reposition the small zero by eye
  8. Holding Down Control, Click and drag the selected contours to create another copy of the small zero
  9. Reposition the other small zero
  10. Test the font (F5)
  11. Save and install the font

Hey mate,

Thank you so much for the reply, i got it to work somehow, the % sign is perfect now, but i got in trouble doig the “Forward slash”

Looks like i made the “/” to wide or something, since it’s piercing the other characters.

Iadded a picture for you too se how it turned out, i also added my font so you can take a look at it if you have some time over,
once again, thank you very much.
Kelmscottt.ttf

The forward slash is not too wide, its too narrow — it has zero width.

From the Transform Toolbar (F6) on the bearings tab, set the left bearing to zero and the right bearing to 72 — that’s the same as other glyphs.

I would have designed the % the same as the other glyphs by copying the zero as suggested in my previous post. I think that looks more consistent.

The bearings of the percentage sign should also be changed to match. They are currently negative.

You may want to change the internal name of the font (Format/Naming). The external file name (kelmscottt.ttf) goes away very soon.

Thank you very much for the help guys, it worked out well . Thanks alot
