Version 7.0.0 is planned for release in July 2014.
A first glimpse shows over 2800 new characters in the beta version of the 7.0.0 Unicode Character Database files. This includes the new Nordic mark sign, Manat sign, and the ruble sign, but also numerous new Arabic, Coptic, Cyrillic, Greek, Latin (Extended-D), Myanmar, Old Permic, Elbasan, Caucasian, Palmyrene, Nabataean, Old north Arabian, Manichaean, Psalter Pahlavi, Mahajani, Sinhala, Khojki, Khudawadi, Grantha, Tirhuta, Siddham, and many more characters, as well as new Miscellaneous Symbols and Arrows.
Thanks, Erwin. I didn’t have a Unicode subfolder in my %AppData%\FontCreator folder, but after I created one and put those files into it the new Unicode blocks showed up within the program.
Version 7.0 of the Unicode Standard is now available, adding 2,834 new characters. This latest version adds the new currency symbols for the Russian ruble and Azerbaijani manat, approximately 250 emoji (pictographic symbols), many other symbols, and 23 new lesser-used and historic scripts, as well as character additions to many existing scripts. These additions extend support for written languages of North America, China, India, other Asian countries, and Africa. For full details, see: http://www.unicode.org/versions/Unicode7.0.0/
Later this week a maintenance release of FontCreator 8 will become available through our website, which contains the latest version of the Unicode Standard.
