I am facing an issue with my Arabic font, as the numbers I created won’t show when I test the font on the software I’m not sure why because I basically followed all the tutorials on Youtube. I don’t know why the numbers won’t show.
the other issue is with the lam alef ligatures, everything was fine when I tested them on the software but when I export the font the ligatures don’t show on InDesign. is there a way I can fix this?
here are some screenshots, as you can see when I try to test the Arabic numbers somehow the English numbers show from nowhere.
and for the ligatures, they don’t show as I created them on the software
Hi,
As for Arabic numerals (hindi) you should put latin and arabic glyphs inside font file, if you do this it will work correctly.
As for ligature lam- alef
You shold check the number of digits for lam- alef put 2 for Allah you put 3…you will find this in glyphs properties panel under OT class ( base, automatic, ligature…)
Thank you
Hi Husham, thank you so much for your help the numbers finally showed up, as for the lam alef ligature I checked and the number is already 2 not sure what is the issue.
Good to hear you have managed to solve the issue related to the digits.
We recommend to use the most recent unofficial update of FontCreator as it contains numerous improvements and bug fixes: FontCreator 14.0.0.2849 (64-bit)
Also Adobe keeps updating their software, and we already reported several issues related to fonts with complex scripts to them. So better use the latest version of their software as well.
