Automatic metrics

The automatic metric command seems to have a bug. Yesterday I selected a range of East Asian glyphs on which I had to change the advance width and leaving the Latin alphabet glyph sets unselected. After the operation all East Asian glyphs were correctly advanced tot he new width but so it happened also for the Latin text set.
Now I am having to readjust this Latin list individually, some 256 glyphs.
I dare not doing the reverse process on the Latin set list using the Autometric fixture as that is likely to do the same the East Asian glyphs.
Please investigate and release a patch asap.

Al

I was unable to reproduce the bug. How did you select the glyphs to add to the autometrics dialogue? Here’s a screen shot of some Arabic glyphs in Arial font added to the Autometrics dialogue. Click the second button down is the right way to add the selected glyphs. The first button is “Add all.” If you make a mistake, then you can use Undo.

You are right again! The mistake was mine because after I highlighted a range of glyphs I then pressed the double arrow icon instead of the single arow icon. My mistake again.
Thanks again for your support.

I am glad you got it sorted.

A man who cannot make a mistake cannot make anything, and that applies especially to making fonts.
